Powered by God’s Design

Today at the playground, I had a moment that made me stop and smile — one of those quiet little miracles that you almost miss if you’re not paying attention.

My two-year-old daughter was running around with a stick in her hand, when suddenly she stopped, looked at it very seriously, and said, “It needs batteries.” I chuckled and replied, “No, Charlotte, you have your own batteries — your hands!”

She accepted that explanation with a nod and kept on playing. But my eyes lingered for a second on a nearby insect, zipping through the air with no wires, no plugs, no batteries — just the power God gave it. And in that moment, something clicked in my heart.

How often do we forget that we, too, are powered by something unseen? Something God-placed and God-given? My daughter didn’t realize the depth of what she was saying, but it reminded me that even our smallest efforts are made possible by God’s design. Our minds, our bodies, our creativity — all of it flows from Him.

“For in him we live and move and have our being.” — Acts 17:28

Today, a stick needed batteries, but my little girl didn’t. Neither did the insect. And neither do we, not in the way we often think. We are already wired with purpose, energy, and imagination. Sometimes, we just need to remember where our power comes from.

So today, I’m grateful. For imagination. For sticky fingers holding battery-less sticks. And for the God who fills us up daily with His strength — no charging cord required.

Encouragement for Today:
You may feel tired or powerless, but don’t forget — you are already equipped. The Creator of the universe placed His spark in you. Walk in that truth today.
