This morning I found myself reflecting on how often I map out the day ahead with a clear vision—expecting things to go a certain way. Most of the time, they do. But lately, with the pace of work, things have taken a different turn. Coaching updates, shifting team structures, and organizational changes have really thrown me off.
On top of that, parenting two little girls—one just over two, the other almost one—is a constantly evolving challenge. Anyone who’s been in this stage of parenting knows how rapidly things change: not just month to month, but week to week, even hour to hour. You adapt constantly, moment by moment, to meet your kids’ needs. Cata and I often tell each other: we make a great team. We divide and conquer—and by God’s grace, we do.
But that doesn’t mean it’s easy.
Lately, I’ve felt… derailed.
Stress levels feel like they’re at an all-time high. It’s not just the workload; it’s balancing that with parenting, with being present to my wife, and staying grounded in all of it. When the pressure mounts, I’ve learned to stop. To silence myself before I say something I’ll regret. To pray. To take a breath. To recenter.
Some days, I can bounce back quickly—get back on track. But other days, it takes time. Sometimes a whole afternoon battling my thoughts and emotions. And yes, sometimes, it gets the best of both of us.
Still, even in those moments, we hold on.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
—Matthew 11:28
That verse reminds me that the track isn’t mine to build or maintain alone. When I’m derailed, He’s the one who brings me back.
If today has you feeling off-track—whether it’s work, parenting, or just the weight of it all—pause. Pray. Take a breath. You’re not meant to hold it all on your own.
Closing Prayer:
Lord, thank You for meeting us in the middle of our mess. When we’re overwhelmed or feel derailed, remind us that Your grace is steady. Help us to pause, to listen, and to trust that You’re guiding the way—even when we can’t see the track ahead. Amen.
